In the vicious cycle that is obesity, Christina Paez snacked her way to becoming bed-bound. For years she ate until she could eat no more, and after reaching an unbearable size, she found herself crippled by an overwhelming anxiety stemming from her new exorbitant figure.
The 39-year-old soon came to the realization that there were numerous “fat admirers,” as reported by Mail Online. She says that she now sells pictures of herself, and that the reactions from her fans are so liberating that losing weight is now out of the question. She nearly lost her sanity following the loss of her baby daughter.
“I got back from the hospital I was in a fog. I was on medication for depression and I turned to drink. I drank at all times of the day for about six months. My sister had to take care of my kids,” she said.
Paez continued on about her struggle, saying that whenever she did leave the house, she was met with strong feelings of regret as she was regularly bombarded with scathing comments hailing from complete strangers, which caused her to slowly lose her self-esteem. It was not until Paez stumbled upon a clan of admirers that she felt happy again.
‘The first time I turned on a computer I didn’t know what I was doing. I didn’t even know what Facebook was. But after I learned and uploaded some pics of myself I started getting comments from guys telling me I was beautiful and perfect. I had never had that before.”
Paez’s teenage daughter Ruby is not happy with her mother’s new-found profession.
“I love my mum but she is not happy with her weight. She’s trying to make other people happy when she’s not even happy in her own skin. She used to take us to the beach all the time, she used to cook healthy salads and vegetables and she was so happy. Now she waits for everyone else to do things for her, where she used to do it for herself.”
