You have to give it up to the rapper Eminem (aka Marshall Mathers) for trying to give back to his community. The artist has partnered with a charity in Michigan to help children succeed.
His charity, The Marshall Mathers Foundation, have asked fans to give to Wolverine Human Services for the Holiday season. As a challenge, Mathers has agreed to match all donations up to $100,000.
But, despite his push to help children, his fans are entirely unenthusiastic. Rather than reaching the massive $100k goal, they have only been able to raise a paltry $6,500. In fact, as of 8:30 am on Monday, the group had only raised $1,385. The group only has less than 24 hours to reach its goal, and it might be safe to say that they aren’t going to do it.
Here is what the organization had to say about the fund-raiser:
Marshall Mathers Foundation has agreed to match all donations up to $100,000 to Wolverine Human Services on December 3rd #GivingTuesday.
We’ve created a “Pre #GivingTuesday Campaign” to get the money flowing! Our goal is to raise at least 50k before December 3rd. Remember, Marshall Mathers Foundation will match all #givingtuesday donations! So, we need your help today!
