Colin Kaepernick, the San Francisco 49ers quarterback has landed himself in hot water with white fans after refusing to stand for the National Anthem during a recent game.
He was protesting the way black people are oppressed in the United States and he did what he felt was right stating:
“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”
Followers of Kaepernick on Instagram and other social media outlets have long since seen that he is upset by what is going on in America with many of his posts being politically charged.
White people on Twitter seem to be the most upset by Kaepernicks actions or lack thereof. Many seem to be perfectly willing to throw out his right to follow the Constitution, they would rather see him nailed to a cross.
Some have tweeted that he doesn’t have the right to be so upset because he is not oppressed making tens of million of dollars a year. Others have gone to far as to call him out for not being a real man.
